Maybe I’m trying, trying too hard.
To achieve something. To love someone too much for me.
A pair that we may have but no matter what, we cannot.
Maybe after all, all of these were wrong.
Everything was just an illusion
Everything was just my own magic trick
Maybe after all, these things aren’t meant to happen.
The laughter that played in my mind
After all was a broken record
The smile that cleared up my day
After all was just glittering and not gold
The conversations that passed my lips
After all was I talking to the mirror
And the love that I gave
After all was on a heart that feels
A heart that feels for another one
Maybe I’m trying too hard
Maybe all of these were wrong
Maybe these things aren’t meant to happen
And maybe my time is wasted
And maybe by the thought of these
Maybe it took the life out of me
But then after all
All of these are maybe.
